Happy Big 50th Birthday Singapore!

How time flies! Singapore is turning 50 this coming Sunday, 9 August. I’m excited to see magnificent fireworks and all that performances.

From a fishing village, to the world-second busiest port! How fab is that!! Singapore has come this far thanks to our founding father, the greatest leader, our late Mr. Lee Kuan Yew.

Singapore is the melting pot of Asia where all races from around the world called home. You can find all yummiest cuisines from around the world here, and there are many activities to do here in our red dot island. Trust me everyone wants to live here and be part of this amazing country.

Since its your birthday! Big 50! I’m going to list out My favourite places in Singapore, well this is how proud I am to be part of this fabulous country!

1. Food street, Chinatown

Seriously, it used to be so hot and noisy back then, the food street was nothing like what you see below in the picture. That was me digging in with my favourite local delicacies; I was out with my long time friend Lisa and it was such an amazing day to walk around and do some scenic tour after having too much food and walking is a great way to get rid of food coma!

We shared BBQ stingray, chilli lala (clam shell) and stir fried kale with garlic and oyster sauce. It was heaven oh my Lord! I’ve not had all these food for years and I truly missed the taste. Walk along the food street and check out a few stalls, you will get to taste the yummiest local delights!

2. Clarke Quay

It is nearby Chinatown, I mean literally the best places are so close by to each other isn’t it? I mean Singapore has got this great country layout and just nicely put everything together; you can go from cultural tour to concrete jungle tour all day!

Clarke quay is the place to go unwind after a long day, have a pint or two, dance the night away and sing your heart out with the crowd along with the amazing live bands! You get everything in there; sports bar (the Bungy bar), pump room club, highlander and extreme sport (Bungy jump). There is also a great taco place, amazing steak house that you will never regret stepping in there. Trust me they are amazing!

3. Robertson Quay

Again walking distance and seriously close by to Clarke quay.

You will see a lot of family hanging out, pets walking and kids running around there in Robertson Quay a lot – I love it there a lot not just because of food and booze but the area is actually family friendly and animal friendly.

Amazing environment, lovely setting best for hanging out chilling and enjoying a bottle of nice wine with cheese platter – you’ve got wine connection cheese bar, wine connection bar & bistro, chamber sports bar and Japanese.

Oh! If you love the signature Singapore chilli crab; you have to visit the Red House. It is seriously yum!

4. Sentosa Island

Beach, foam party, skyline & luge well there are plenty you could do there. Along the monorail ride you could stop by at Resort World Sentosa, try your luck at Casino and go have some fun at Universal studios!

There are amazing restaurants and hotels too – ideal for staycation if you fancy having a romantic getaway for long weekend like this kind of long weekend.

If I’m honest Singapore has got the best transportation system; you can get around so easily and taxi is every where and you’ve got MRT and buses (night ride). Another thing is EZlink card is just a tap away, get into Sentosa or back into land 🙂 I just love it!

5. East Coast road

The whole stretch just have the most amazing food for you to choose from Thai to Korean and Italian or German. It is family friendly, chill out laid back area to be with friends and your pets. You have got shopping malls, yoga studios, Pilates studios, pet shop, cupcake shop and amazing brunch places!

See how amazing Singapore is 😍😍😍!

There are so many things for you to explore here. Singapore always on a constant changes to make the country better, and moving forwards with the world and Singapore is doing so amazing at incorporating human together with technologies, that it is possible for humans and technologies can exist together to make the world better!

Thank you Singapore, my memories, my life, my family is here with you. You have been so wonderful and I ❤️U!

Enjoy Jubilee weekend everyone!
